Professional Development League
The SEA Professional Development League, founded in 1981, is a non-profit educational organization which is committed to advancing the professionalism of career federal executives through the sponsorship of training and recognition activities and research. PDL activities are open to all career federal executives, irrespective of whether they hold membership in SEA.
PDL sponsors high-caliber professional development events, including an annual career executive leadership conference and seminars on relevant executive topics. PDL also sponsors an annual Presidential Distinguished Rank awards banquet, to honor Senior Executive Service members who have won the highest federal civil service award, and a "Morning of Reflections" which brings these executives together to discuss their experiences and views of the future.
Finally, PDL supports research on executive issues. Such efforts have included studies comparing compensation of career federal executives with their private-sector counterparts.
PDL is supported by fees from training events and by contributions from private sector donor corporations committed to a civil service of excellence. Contributions are made to the annual program of PDL, a 501(c)(3) corporation. Tax-deductible contributions are also accepted from individuals.
