SEA President Makes Statement on OPM Director's Resignation

On July 10, OPM Director Katherine Archuleta resigned as OPM Director in the wake of new information regarding the data hack at OPM.

The following is a statement from Senior Executives Association President Carol Bonosaro on OPM Director Katherine Archuleta's resignation:

"Director Archuleta was a strong advocate for the workforce who consistently opened the door to engage in solid communication with federal employee associations. We understand that, ultimately, the leader is responsible, however, we feel that it is unreasonable to place the sole burden of blame for the data breach on the shoulders of Director Archuleta, who has served for less than 2 years . The OPM data breaches were years in the making, with many warning signs, and now all federal agencies, the Administration, and Congress must come together to address the serious vulnerabilities of the government's IT systems to ensure the protection of data, including employees' personal information."
